As the Vice President of William Mason High School’s National Honor Society, I was the leader and organizer of our school's prom fashion show during my senior year, I've had the privilege of leading an event that showcases our school's style while embodying our values of inclusivity and support one another. One of the most exciting parts of the fashion show is that the 11th and 12th students get to strut down the catwalk, each having the ability to show a unique flair to the stage.  
 
But beyond the glitz and glamor, the prom fashion show serves an important purpose: raising funds to support students in need. Specifically, the proceeds go towards financing our daylight prom, an event designed to ensure that all students, regardless of their abilities, can experience the magic of prom night. During the prom fashion show this year, I wanted to spotlight the individuals who benefit from the daylight prom. I reached out to four attendees and invited them to participate in the fashion show alongside our models. The response was overwhelming – they were thrilled at the opportunity to take center stage. As they walked the runway, their radiant smiles and infectious enthusiasm stole the show. The cheers and applause they received were only a small homage to the impact of their presence.  
 
Another section of the prom fashion show was a club round where 35+ clubs walked the stage and showcased some of the amazing opportunities our school has to offer. Organizing our school's Prom Fashion Show during my senior year wasn't as glamorous and easy as I thought it was going to be—it was a real testament to my values of teamwork and collaboration which showcased especially when working with leaders from various clubs in my high school. From the get-go, the idea of incorporating a club round into the fashion show ignited excitement and creativity. However, bringing this vision to life required a lot of communication among leaders from each club. I had to work closely with all the club leaders to navigate logistical hurdles, coordinate rehearsal schedules, and ensure that every club felt empowered to display their unique talents on stage.  
 
On the day of the fashion show, as each person and club took its turn on the runway, the creative performances, and enthusiastic support from the audience showcased the true spirit of teamwork in action. By incorporating the daylight prom attendees into the fashion show, we not only raised awareness about the event but also celebrated the diversity and inclusivity that define our school community. It was a powerful reminder that everyone deserves to feel valued. As I initially reflected on the impact of the prom fashion show, I was filled with a sense of pride and fulfillment. I've strived to leave a lasting impression at Mason High School, and I'm hopeful that this tradition will continue to touch hearts and inspire change in the years to come.  
 
A few months later, now that I’m a first-year student in college, I look back at this, and I’m reminded of the importance of collaboration. By working together, we were able to achieve something far greater than what any one individual or club could accomplish alone. It reinforced the importance of respect, communication, and trust in achieving shared goals. I carry these lessons from the prom fashion show forward, eager to apply them in college as I navigate diverse perspectives and challenges both academically and through extracurricular activities. My goal anywhere I go is to foster a supportive community where everyone feels valued and empowered to shine.
